Underway worldwide with high precision<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Engelskirchen, August 2019. They are thin, they are round, they inspire with their high resilience and long tool life \u2013 and they perform important work worldwide in very different tasks and areas of everyday life: cutting and grinding discs from LUKAS-ERZETT. The fields of application for these cutting and grinding discs are just as diverse as the user industries. Be it on the high seas on oil platforms and tankers, for repairing buses in Paris, in the production of luxury yachts or in the food industry, LUKAS cutting and grinding discs accompany the most challenging processes and work with extreme precision.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Belgium \u2013 the long path to making chocolate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a long way from the cocoa bean to milk\nchocolate. The chocolate production process is a complex one comprising many\ndifferent process steps. Various machines are used along the manufacturing\nchain, such as sorting and roasting machines, special mills and steel rollers.\nThe highest quality and hygiene levels are required of the machines that\naccompany this production process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Belgium, flat cutting discs from LUKAS\nare used in the manufacture of chocolate-making machinery. These are ideally\nsuited for creating the clean surfaces and cutting surfaces that are essential\nin the food industry on the machines made of stainless steel (Inox steel) and\nsteel materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Machining with LUKAS cutting discs takes\nplace with fast and cool cutting of Inox steel without any blue discolouration\ncombined with a longer tool life. This means that they are extremely economical\nto use. The tools also allow particularly precise cuts with minimal odours and grinding dust. This is ideal for\nmachines such as those used in producing chocolate where the generation of dust\nshould be kept to a minimum for hygienic reasons, as well as where fine\nstainless steel seams need to be ground to achieve the greatest possible\nresistance to corrosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For years, the established machine\nmanufacturer for chocolate production in Belgium has relied on the LUKAS\nquality of its cutting discs for steel and stainless steel with their different\ndiameters: \u201cSince 2013, our customer has been convinced by the good price to\nperformance ratio, the fast delivery times that eliminate unnecessary\ndowntimes, and the smooth-running cooperation,\u201d says Joost van Hauwermeiren,\nLUKAS representative for the Benelux region, describing the successful\ncollaboration. He personally considers the long tool life of the discs and\ntheir positive ergonomic values to be their prime characteristics, together\nwith the minimal vibration, reduced dust and noise development. \u201cThe cutting\ndiscs used here are especially suitable for high-performance machines, such as\nangle grinders up to 1500 W.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great\nBritain \u2013 playing it safe on the high\nseas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOil drilling platforms have to withstand\nthe toughest wind, weather and water conditions for many years. Thus, special\nattention has be paid to the welding and subsequent machining of the weld seams\non the highly stressed girders and machines on the drilling rig,\u201d explains\nPeter Cleverly, managing director of the LUKAS-ERZETT representation in the UK.\nAn oil drilling platform is like a small factory out in the middle of the sea,\ndrilling cost-intensive wells at great depths using innovative, special\ntechnologies. The main construction material used here is structural steel.\nGrinding structural steel with its coarser structures and surfaces is often a\nreal challenge. For this reason, LUKAS grinding discs for large-scale surface\ntreatment have long been especially popular in the production and maintenance\nof oil drilling platforms. High-performance cutting\nand grinding discs for handheld and stationary machines are mainly used here.\nGrinding discs are also used for finishing, grinding and polishing weld seams,\ncleaning metal and levelling surfaces prior to welding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only the most resilient tools of best\nquality are used in the production processes on a platform. France\n\u2013 reliable travel by bus around Paris<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

City buses are exposed to high levels of\nwear and tear. A lot of traffic, minor to major accidents, and large numbers of\ntourist and resident passengers create a huge strain. Repairs are frequently\nneeded to get the buses back on the road and maintain regular services. For\nParis, a city with millions of inhabitants and visitors, every operational bus is\ncrucial. This means that the buses cannot stay for long in the workshop of a\nstate-owned Parisian bus operator. Fast repairs to structural steel parts that\nhave been badly deformed in accidents, using robust and high-quality tools, are\nthe order of the day here. Following a six-month test procedure, which included\ntesting for durability, safety, dust and noise development and smooth cuts,\nLUKAS cutting discs prevailed over other tools. \u201cThis customer has been buying\ncutting discs from LUKAS for five years now,\u201d says Joost van Hauwermeiren,\nLUKAS representative for the Benelux region. \u201cThey were convinced by the best\nprice to performance ratio and the outstanding service with fast and punctual\none-stop delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Germany \u2013 luxury yachts: top-level\nquality<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It takes months or even years until a\nluxury yacht is constructed. Shipyards design, develop and construct\nyachts and naval vessels that are in demand worldwide with the highest quality\nlevels, innovation and passion \u2013 from new constructions to conversions, repair\nwork and refits. Meeting the stringent demands of this industry is no easy\ntask. \u201cA consistently good quality and on-time delivery in particular are\ndecisive factors for our ship-building\ncustomers,” says Christian Schl\u00e4tzer, the responsible LUKAS sales\nrepresentative in northern Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cutting and grinding discs from LUKAS meet\nthe demanding requirements of manufacturers worldwide and are therefore used in\nmany different industries for cutting metal and smoothening the subsequently\nclean-cut edges. The sharp, precision ceramic abrasive grains on the\nstate-of-the-art cutting discs from LUKAS ensure both this and cool grinding.\nTo make sure that the rotating cutting discs are not damaged at high speeds and\ncausing damage to the workpiece in turn, they are reinforced with fabric\ninserts and are extremely flexible thanks to the particularly elastic resin\nbond.
