Wood-machining and lightweight engineering
Lightweight engineering materials, such as polyurethane-based materials, are a key factor in modern structural engineering. Their low density combined with high stability make them ideal for aerospace and marine engineering applications. These materials are used, for example, in aircraft cabins and on ships to achieve a low overall weight and therefore increased fuel efficiency and effectiveness. They also offer enhanced sound insulation and fire resistance.
