Description

This self-clamping flap disc is the better alternative to conventional abrasive discs and convinces with its significantly longer tool life. It is ideal for deburring, fettling, derusting, smoothening and weld seam machining already at low applied grinding pressure. Thanks to its multi-layer abrasive coating, this lamellar flap disc stays just as sharp as at the first time of use. When the top flaps wear down, the fresh abrasive coating of the flaps underneath is exposed. In this way, they achieve a long service life and consistent working quality. Thanks to the self-sharpening effect of the zirconia alumina, combined with the extreme hardness and sharpness of the abrasive grain, this tool achieves high removal rates and a long service life, especially with hard and tough materials such as stainless steel. The back of the flap disc is fitted (just like an abrasive disc) with a “quick-release fastener” consisting of a plastic thread. The disc is simply attached to the corresponding carrier (GTR) with a short turn. An additional mounting tool is not required and the flap disc is centred automatically. Due to its low wear, the carrier also lasts significantly longer compared to fixing systems that use Velcro hook fastenings or adhesive surfaces.
